Queen City dance is located in Poughkeepsie, NY & is owned & operated by Leah Speck & Emily Guerrette. Few residents may know, Poughkeepsie was given the nickname "The Queen City of the Hudson" in the late 1800's because of its reputation as a “hive” thanks to the industrious nature of its inhabitants. Locally born & raised, Leah & Emily chose this name for their studio in an effort to help keep our local history alive. Their vast experience in the performing & fine arts has lead them to teaching & encouraging the next generation to ensure the local arts scene continues to thrive.

At Queen City Dance it's not just about learning moves or steps, but the foundation for some of life's most important lessons; including team work, respect for yourself & others, responsibility, confidence, a healthy body image, and effective ways to overcome obstacles & challenges. The studio focuses equally on nurturing the individual while challenging them as dancers. If you put in the effort, the results will show. Leah & Emily are thrilled to bring their love for dancing & the performing arts to "The Queen City of the Hudson!"
